Meet the 417 Team

Our treatment team is passionate about what they do, and consists of highly skilled professionals who use effective techniques and current modalities. Our clinical team includes a psychiatrist, licensed therapists, interns and certified counselors, all of whom bring comprehensive knowledge and expertise to the treatment experience.

Scott Kalland

Program Director

Scott has dedicated his life’s work to improving the quality of life for adolescents and their families. With over ten years in the field, Scott provides experience and leadership to the other members of the 417 Recovery team.

Dr. Alejandro Alva

Medical Director

Dr. Alva’s expertise in adolescent, adult and geriatric psychiatry including dual diagnosis using the latest pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches to treat mental health as well as the use of anti-craving interventions.

Duane Durst, LMFT

Clinical Director

Duane completed his undergraduate work at USC and received his Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling at The Professional School of Psychology. He has helped develop several therapeutic programs and currently provides supervision for the clinical staff at 417 Recovery.

Austin Cordova

Business Development

Austin is a Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor and has completed his studies in the Human Services program at Saddleback College. He has devoted his life to helping adolescents and families struggling with addiction and mental health issues. Austin has experience operating and coordinating treatment for all of our client’s care.

Jason Blakemore, AMFT

Primary Therapist

Jason is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University.  Jason previously worked at an in-patient residential drug and alcohol treatment center, two PHP programs, as well as a trauma based mental health clinic before joining our team. At 417 Jason sees multiple clients for individual person-centered psychotherapy, mindfulness, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy. 

Amanda Timmerman, AMFT

Primary Therapist

Amanda completed her undergraduate work at UC San Diego and received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from CSU Fullerton. She facilitates personal growth and skill development through individual, family, and group therapy. Amanda has experience working with youth, adults, and families affected by mental health and substance use challenges.

Lauren Bittner, AMFT

Primary Therapist

Lauren earned a double degree in psychology and family studies and human development at the University of Arizona. She then completed her master's degree in counseling psychology at Santa Clara University. Lauren previously worked with survivors of sexual trauma as well as with adults at an in-patient co-occurring disorder treatment center. Lauren utilizes an integrative approach of therapeutic modalities based on the unique needs of the client.
